graduation aftermath

a Tarheel Born, a Tarheel Bred, a Tarheel Dead.

I graduated today from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill today at approximately 10:43 am, moving my tassel from the right to the left, and throwing my cap in the air.

On the way home, I kept thinking of these past three years and how much I have changed for the better. I have been transformed by friends, teachers, experiences, and the place I truly call home, Chapel Hill.

Throughout the past couple of weeks, at some point each day, a couple of tears found themselves at the corners of my eyes, and I cried frequently. Tears of joy, tears of dread and anxiety, tears of sadness, tears of excitement, and tears for all that this was.

I can’t go back in time and change or extend my college career, I can only reflect on how this college town became my home. I can only be grateful for the lessons learned and the friends made. I can step forward, knowing UNC has prepared me for my future.
