Cholula hot sauce and fake succulents

Nahko and Medicine for the people is among my top 5 artists. Their music is deeply spiritual and connected to creation, resistance, and indigenous sovereignty. Listening to their song this morning It is written, the line “take your time” stood out to me. It was paramount to me, that I don’t take my time, but that I rush through things or projects, or periods in my life, so I can check off a list and move to the next item. By not taking my time, I am not appreciating my current existence and reveling in the world around me.

Take your time. Take a seat. Slow down and breathe.

My theme for 2020 is growth. To continue to grow into my discernment and calling, to grow into Philadelphia, to learn to love my growth.

Growth isn’t without challenges. In some growing seasons, you labor in pain or it’s  itchy and scratchy like that sweater your dad always wears around Christmas. Growth can seem like you’re actually regressing at points. But growth continues on a nonlinear basis and takes time.

2020 is itchy growth, growth that at times means shedding my past self, catching the nourishing sunlight, taking time to nurture and flourishing.

2020 is taking my time to enjoy life by laughing, crying, and being present in my current existence.

As always,

He Climbs Mountains
